display poster....

just a tiny bit happier!! :)

Hi!

Today has been a very busy and productive day!  With my final design decided I began production of the prototype.  My rapid pro part is now complete and I've begun to work on doing the 'finishing' to it.

The ABS piece has been plastic primed and also paint primed and when fully dry i will gently key the surface and attempt to spray up the work to how i want it....ABSOLUTELY BLOODY VISUALLY STUNNING!!!!! ha.

I've also finalised a cap and the body and haphazardly set about to convert the CreoElements Pro files into drawings :/

I've decided to rapid pro a cap to go with the acrylic body.  I'll spray this cap so that it compliments the ABS body...hopefully this will give a visually balanced finish to the product!

I also have a poster to display my usb stick project......

I'm being productive!!!! :)

Hi!

Well...just thought I'd update you with how i'm getting on...

This week i've finally been finalising a design...my research and initial idea designs will be updated on here soon!!  I didn't want to lag with that but thats one of the beauties of doing this blog...the freedom it gives me to be totally creative and update at any time.

Unfortunately i hit a stumbling block on friday that is gonna see me very busy this week and probably pulling a couple of all-nighters!!

My final design idea that was going to be put into production on the rapid pro is the wrong size! :(  I had checked it and my tutor assisted in ensuring its the right size but when i put it into the program to 'print' the size was about the size of my thumb nail!!! :/

This now means that i'm going to be in uni on monday at stupid am and getting this sorted sharpish so that i can actually 'print-off' my work!

I've updated my research, technology and reference pages and really feel focussed right now...i just hope i'm on the right track!

With regards to my prototype product....i'm excited!  I know that what i want to produce will be visually stunning (thats the hope!) and i also know that when i get into the swing of it i'll be working like a machine! (thats also another hope!! ha.)

I ain't gonna lie!!!!!

Raight...(bit of Yorkshire there for effect!)

I'm getting really hacked off with this and myself!  So....here's my thoughts....

For days now I've thought about how I can develop my idea, in terms of the way I'm moving with the context around the creation of the design of my USB stick; but the idea I've had has a simple story behind it!  Simple enough that I'm not going to develop the idea of context any further, there is no need!

At first my ideas surrounded Formula 1, something that I enjoy and that I thought could make something really visually stunning with.  It wasn't long before I clearly made a link between my first thought...F1 and the current school program of F1 in Schools.

I've known about F1 in schools for a while now and I first saw it at the D&T exhibition in Birmingham last year.

I'm not going to go into great detail about the program because I really don't need too, but I will be creating a separate page soon (god knows what I'm gonna call it!) that basically explains my approach to this project and how my USB project is to be used in schools.
